Theme 14 - The Alphabet Game 3x3x3
It is getting more and more difficult thinking up unique ideas! I can see what some people like, and what many do not, so I try to learn that way. So, this game will be like a typical team game, except the way the players pick their civs. Each team will pick their civilization based on the other players on their team - but, i'll get back to that in a second.
Each team will be made up 3 members, and there will be 3 teams, for a total of 9 players. The map will be Small (i've tweaked the CIV5Worlds.xml file to allow the 9th player).
If you create your own games, (rather than using the save file below) you will need to edit the file CIV5Worlds.xml which should be located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\assets\DLC\Expansion2\Gameplay\GameInfo\XML\CIV5Worlds.xml
Edit <DefaultPlayers>10</DefaultPlayers> so that it says something greater than 9, then reopen the CIV game
This is my first time doing this, so if you have troubles, tell me - I tested it and it 'seemed' to work, but I didn't play a full game.
Rules
Here is the saved game file that you can use to load with. Save this to your location where the hot seat saved games are stored. For example, my location in windows 7 is C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Saves\hotseat
Then - open Civ 5, load this file, select your civilizations and away you go! (great idea erekose!)
Note: if you do not have all the DLC (other than the scramble packs) I'm not sure what will happen when you try to load this.

Rules
- This is a 9 player only game, teams of 3
- This theme will run from now, until February 28, 2015
- Civilization selections must be alphabetically sequential within each team, and must be the next available letter of the alphabet, not the same. Confused? ok.. examples: Player 1 selects his CIV to be Assyria. Player 2 and Player 3 on his team now must select the next civ in alphabetically order that isn't the same letter (A). So, player 2 on his team cannot select Austria or Aztec (both start with A), and must then select a civ that starts with B (Any civ) - so Babylon, Brazil, Byzantium). Once he makes his selection, the 3rd player on his team must select their Civ for what comes after B, which is C (it won't always be the next letter, there are some gaps). So, he can be China, Carthage, or Celts. Make sense? The strategy in picking your civs will be what are the best 3 in a sequence for a small map, on ancient start. When you get to Z, you wrap around back to the letter A.
- Use this list of Civs in alphabetically order to assist: http://www.civfanatics.com/civ5/civilizations
- The order of the turns will be Team 1, Team 2 Team 3, Team 1, Team 2, etc.. One team should never go back to back.
- The game will be an Ancient Era Start.
- The difficulty will be Prince
- Game pace is Quick
- World Age is 4 Billion Years
- Temperature is Temperate
- Rainfall is Normal
- Resources are Strategic Balance
- There isn't a team setting on this map, so you are randomly placed.
- All Victory Conditions are active, excluding Time
- The map type will be Pangaea and a Small map size.
- Barbarian, and Ruins are enabled, and 6 city-states
- Extra DLCs will most likely need to be enabled
- All world wonders are eligible for the game
- See screenshots below - the settings should be matching these exactly.
